Pram update

Here is the pram after base sanding at 80 grit. The base sanding, which took weeks to finish, took care of the edges of the lapstrakes smoothing them out so there is a nice contour in the shape of the hull. Today, I work in the 120, 220, and 320 grit with the rotary sander, then will move to hand wet sanding with 400, 600, then 1200 grit. I have not been able to find 800 grit...so if anyone knows, give a shout out. After the sanding is polishing. Right now this image makes it look rather cloudy still, but its actually not bad and I suspect it will clear up as the sanding continues. The upper lapstrakes on both sides (near the rails) is hard to sand in this position, so I will work on those when I turn the boat topside. I have chosen a very pared down seat design using Plexiglas as the support and the plywood as the seat. I think it will look terrific. When I get to that part....its the homestretch for this project and I can send it out into the world.
